At the start of 2020, Rong Yao made the life-changing decision to jump into the business world headfirst. Eleven months later, he makes six to seven figures across multiple online businesses, all of which spanning across several industries. Specializing in marketing and eCommerce business, Rong Yao has cemented his place as a force to be reckoned with in the online business industry. Turning a new leaf

Before 2020, Rong Yao stuck to his daily routine: wake up, work an uninspiring engineering job that made someone else rich, go to bed, then wake up and do it all over again. In January of this year, Rong Yao decided to take matters into his own hands. They resigned from his engineering job and began researching the online business industry. After preparing and gaining some faith, Rong Yao finally made the venture into eCommerce. The road ahead would prove to be difficult, but Rong Yao credits this moment as the real start to his career as an entrepreneur!

Keeping focus

There are three main factors that have led Rong Yao to where he is now: hard work, determination, and the ability to trust their gut. Intuition is often second-guessed by people too afraid to trust themselves. Rong Yao says this is exactly what holds people back from fully pursuing their goals. If you want something, do everything in your power to get it. Don’t let others get in the way of your growth and discovery— you, and only you can make or break your career goals. At one point in time, Rong Yao was just like us: newcomers stepping foot into a world of unknown potential and possibility. If they could make his dreams come true, who’s to say we can’t too?

Now in November, Rong Yao has gone on to create more businesses with his earnings and plans on using what he has learned to help others with his work. Rong Yao has proven to both himself and the online business industry that he is not to be undermined or dealt with lightly. When asked about his funniest anecdote since starting his business back in January, this is what Rong Yao had to say:

“Probably the funniest thing, in the most ironic way, is that when I left my full-time job to join eCommerce I wasn’t sure what I was getting into it… now in just one year, it’s put me on track to retire in ten years, & that’s truly the “American dream” now isn’t it?”

Additionally, Rong Yao recalled one of his happiest memories in his life. Although he couldn’t recall a specific day, he told us the realization that he was trailblazing the way for other entrepreneurs to journey into the world of eCommerce truly made him happy and excited to do more. Bringing the interview to a close, Rong Yao’s says his favorite three words to live by are family, health, and freedom.
